I've already posted the pieces I completed during Liz Hill's wonderful workshop to my painting gallery page, but Liz has posted images of all of the pieces from the artists in attendance with me on her blog. Thus, here's a link to her post - the image at the top of the list is my Josephine II!
The newest installment of Aplasia was featured in Daily Lit Recognition and described as follows: "a thick piece of work with a writer who can make even green beans sound interesting."
Thanks so much!
If you haven't read Aplasia's story thus far, have no fear - each of the five installments is designed to be a short read. Check it out under the Writing tab on neonskiesstudio.com!
In preparation for the Neon Skies Studio web store, physical proofs have been received for C'est La Mort issues 00 and 01! I am considerably more satisfied with this new printer. Once the legal paperwork is done being filed with the state, I'll be releasing these in a special limited bundle pack with some extra goodies.
There is now an audio section of the site. You can find the prior podcast interview and review linked there as well as the brand new short audio play, The Problem With Death! Special thanks to Kole Ross and Gary Butterfield of duckfeed.tv, John Fitch and Michael Ghiringhelli of pandamanga.com, and Seth Moore of qarlsbackyard.com for their hard work to make it a reality!
And finally, C'est La Mort main character Porter Graemes is now featured in his very own blog, Porter Explains It All! You can ask him any question you like, and he'll answer it for you in blog format. All of the secrets of the universe are at your fingers just waiting for you to request them!
Be sure to check back every Wednesday for the newest page of C'est La Mort!
I'm pleased to announce that two of my newest paintings will be shown and available for purchase at the Watercolor Art Society of Houston for the May Exhibition.
Reception will be on May 9th from 6 - 8p. I will be in attendance to meet and chat with anyone who would like to stop by. Hor d'oeuvres will be served and everyone is welcome to attend. Please do come out if you're in the Houston area!
If you can't come out for the reception, don't worry! The exhibition runs at the WAS-H gallery from May 5th - June 6th.
WAS-H is located at 1601 West Alabama, Houston, TX 77006. Gallery hours are Tue-Sat from 10a-3p.
8th Dimension Comics & Games will be hosting a Ladies' Night on Saturday, June 21st from 8 - 10p. To the left is a quick promo flyer I drew up for them for distribution tomorrow (Free Comic Book Day).
Regardless of where you are, I strongly encourage you to go find a comic book shop and pick up some free comics! If you don't know where a participating location is, the website linked above has a locator. That's actually how I learned that 8th Dimension was right around the corner from me, and this saves me a lot of gas and time as I don't have to drive across town to get to the stores I formerly patronized.
Perhaps next year I will be a direct participant in Free Comic Book Day with C'est La Mort and possibly Huntress Hood! This year the timing did not work out.
Below is a map to 8th Dimension - I will be stopping by myself sometime in the early afternoon.
