I think the most influential of these happenstance discourses was with a practitioner of kundalini yoga. He’d apparently watched one or more of my various clips of yoga sessions and was stricken enough to message me about it.
“Your muladhara chakra is flaring and wide open!” he exclaimed. He chatted with me for a bit about chakras and yoga in general before moving on, but that particular line sounded so suggestive when recited to friends that it entertained all of us immensely. I was teased about having a “flaring” root chakra that was “wide open.”
It persisted so much that I eventually found a silver medallion of the muladhara chakra. I strung it on a piece of leather thong and have worn it as a choker for years. It’s one of my most frequently-worn necklaces. I have a special place in my heart for the root chakra. It’s flaring and wide open.
