I cook everything from scratch and invent my own recipes with great frequency. I enjoy making food – and I enjoy EATING it too, which is why my food goes through many incarnations until I get it the way I want it. I also enjoy sharing it with loved ones and ensuring that they, too, like it. My fiancée told me that the time I slapped a zucchini pancake down on his plate, he stared at it dubiously and then at my behest took a bite and found it to be “absolutely delicious” he stopped doubting my ability to make anything I cook taste wonderful.
And now for my two weird eating habits:
- I tend to get hooked on one particular food and eat it every day for a variable length of time. It may be a week, a month, or even several months – but I will eat this thing constantly until I finally tire of it and find something else to latch onto. This isn’t to say that I don’t eat ANYTHING else, but this one food will find its way into my daily diet all the same. Anything is up for grabs.
- Being that I cook everything from scratch, sometimes I eat the base ingredients and find myself just wanting to consume those rather than the end product. This is NOT just limited to “oh I ate a veggie or fruit” but veers off into a strange place. I’ve been known to literally just eat a particular fresh herb, a spice/spice mix, even protein powder or some other thing that is not eaten by itself.
Don't ask. I don't have an answer for you.
